Federal Decree by Law No. 27 of 2018 Concerning Equality in Wages between Men and Women confirms the UAE’s commitment to gender equality and fairness at the workplace. The law aims to ensure that men and women receive equal pay for performing the same work or holding the same job grade at federal government entities.
Article 3 is the key provision of the law. It states that government entities must not discriminate amongst employees on the basis of gender for salaries paid to them for the same job grade.
Moreover, Article 4 of
Federal Decree by Law No. 33 of 2021 Concerning Regulating Labour Relations in the Private Sector, also stipulates that women shall be granted the same wage as men if they perform the same work, or other work of equal value.
