'Jahiz’ - Future government talents
‘Jahiz’ is an interactive digital platform for empowering federal government employees with emerging skills for the future.
Objectives of Jahiz
The 'Jahiz' initiative aims to enhance the readiness of government talents to face future challenges by equipping them with the necessary skills to achieve excellence in government work. It seeks to empower them to keep pace with the requirements of a rapidly changing world and to understand new and emerging topics and sectors that impact government work. This will contribute to raising the level of readiness and positively reflect on government performance, productivity, and the delivery of top-tier services that will significantly shape and design the future.
The objectives can be summarised as follows:
- to promote culture of continuous learning and human capacity building
- to enhance government employees’ future readiness and empowering them with future skills
- to increase the competitiveness of the national government workforce and strengthening the government's global leadership and competitiveness
- to buildthe best government in the world in terms of performance, productivity and future preparedness.
Four core groups of future skills
'Jahiz' offers all federal government employees interactive and personalised learning journeys focused on the essential skills for the future of government work. These are aligned with the UAE’s vision to enhance the readiness of the government workforce for the future and prepare them for its rapid changes and new priorities. The content is organised under four main categories of future skills:
Digital skills
Digital transformation is reshaping government work. Skills in AI, cybersecurity, cloud computing and data analytics are key to innovation and efficiency.10X skills
10X skills build resilience, leadership and innovation. They foster strategic thinking, adaptability and creativity, driving personal growth and institutional transformation.Sustainability skills
Sustainability is central to the UAE’s strategies. These skills help advance climate goals and the circular economy, enabling employees to shape resilient, long-term policies.Specialised skills
This category equips priority-role employees with future-ready skills to align with innovation, adapt to global trends, and support the UAE’s national agenda.Tracking mechanisms
The platform includes a digital 'Future Skills Portfolio' for every government employee. This portfolio serves as a comprehensive personal profile that links an employee’s skill acquisition to job performance. Participants receive achievement badges upon completing the required skills.
The platform brings together over 25 strategic partners, including leading government entities in the UAE such as the Office of the Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications; the Cybersecurity Council; and the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment. It also partners with top global companies such as Microsoft, AWS, SAP, Apolitical, and the educational company Mindvalley.
