World Virtual GovHack is a category of the GovTech Prize which is organised annually by the World Government Summit in Dubai to acknowledge pioneers and innovators in government technology for providing global solutions to global key challenges using blockchain technologies and strategies. The prize also allows the public to submit any pressing global challenge for approval.
The UAE Government is organising the World Virtual GovHack which invites top minds amongst developers, startups and university students from around the world to team up and help in producing innovative solutions that would benefit the global community in the following key challenges:
- refugee resettlement
- clean water
- food security
- electricity access
- economic security
- government services transformation.
Be part of this challenge and register for the World Virtual GovHack prize from 19 November to 30 December 2017.
Winners will be announced on 8 January 2018. Top teams will be awarded prizes and honoured during the World Government Summit which will take place from 11 to 13 February 2018.
Umm Al Quwain Innovation Award
The Umm Al Quwain Innovation Award is aimed at enhancing competitiveness among individuals, entities, federal and local departments, institutions and companies. It also aims to diversify knowledge-based economy, bring out the best innovative practices and establish a culture of innovation in institutional work environment, as well as improve the quality of life.
Ministry of Interior Award for Innovative Policing Ideas
In 2015, the Ministry of Interior Award for Innovative Policing Ideas was launched to encourage creativity, innovation, support the policing services and work through the organisation of a conference every two years involving all the international police and security entities in the world.
UAE AI & Robotics Award for Good
The UAE AI & Robotics Award for Good was launched in 2015 to support innovation in the key areas of artificial intelligence and robotics as part of the UAE’s commitment towards the National Innovation Strategy. It focuses on using this technology on the three main areas of health, education and social services.
