The Quantum Computing Research Group (QCRG) at Khalifa University
The Quantum Computing Research Group (QCRG) at Khalifa University engages with academia and the industry to establish an internationally recognised research effort in the UAE in the area of quantum computing and its innovative applications, which include communication protocols which offer secure communication, efficient big data analytics, enhanced imaging, machine learning and artificial intelligence, materials science, and efficient energy harvesting. Members of the QCRG are involved in both theoretical and applied research in the above-mentioned areas. Read more about Quantum Computing Research Group and its projects.
DEWA quantum computing training programme
In 2018, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organised the first intensive quantum computing training programme in cooperation with Microsoft. The programme is part of DEWA’s efforts to employ the latest technologies and benefit from the capabilities of quantum computing in tackling challenges of energy efficiency and optimisation.
The programme aimed to develop new solutions based on quantum computing for the production, transmission and distribution of energy and water, as well as in conservation efforts. It also aimed to identify the challenges that quantum computing can deal with.
