21 million people trade in old mobiles for new
smartphones
An audience of around 21 million have interacted with
Axiom’s #axiomintervention campaign launched through
social media websites for its customers in the UAE and
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to trade in old mobile phones
for new smartphones. The campaign is part of the Axiom’s
strive to drive social media innovation.
1000000 LinkedIn users in UAE
LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network
on the internet, has one million members from the
UAE, accounting for the biggest share of its mem-
bers in the Middle East. Fifty percent of those users
access LinkedIn through their mobile devices and
tablets. The UAE is one of the few countries in the
world where the majority of LinkedIn members ac-
cess their accounts through their mobile phones.
1000 digital experts at Arabnet
Summit
For the second year in a row, Dubai
host 1,000 digital business profession-
als, experts and entrepreneurs at the
ArabNet Digital Summit 2014, the re-
gion’s largest gathering of leaders in
digital business and entrepreneurship.
300 million Dropbox users
Dropbox File sharing and cloud storage service has
crossed the 300 million users, making a 100 million
increase in the last six months.
Experts attributed the increase to Dropbox now fo-
cusing on rolling out more services for business us-
ers. Last month, after completing the pilot phase, the
company made its business-focused services avail-
able to all corporates users.
396 million active WeChat users
WeChat instant messaging service has now grown to
hit 396 million active users.
That’s 41 percent up from the 355 million monthly active
users revealed by Tencent for the last quarter of 2013.
