Apple sold 800 million iOS devices
Apple has sold over 800 million iOS devices worldwide,
of which over 500 million are iPhones.
Apple said that 50 percent of its customers in China
have shifted from Android to iPhone during the past six
months. It also confirmed that 89 percent of its iPhones
are now using the iOS 7 operating system.
Patent cost 30 percent of smart-
phones price
According to a new report written by Joe
Mueller and Tim Syrett, along with Intel Vice
President and Associate General Counsel
Ann Armstrong, 30 percent of the price of a
new smartphone represents the cost of ac-
quiring licenses to use patented technology.
This could drive the prices of smartphones
and tablets so high.

A chip promises internet 400 times faster
IBM researchers has developed a tiny chip that can make internet
speed 400 times faster.
The developed energy efficient analog-to-digital converter (ADC)
enables connections a speed that is 5,000 times faster than the
average U.S. connection and 400 times faster than Google Fiber.
