3- m-Government Guidelines
The m-Government team has created the
m-Government Guidelines. The document
serves as a set of guidelines for govern-
ment entities to prepare themselves in
transforming to mGovernment (Mobile
Government). It will assist the entities in
meeting some of the challenges of exploit-
ing the benefits that may be gained from
mGovernment.
It contains a set of guidelines for making
entities ‘m-ready’ to the requirements of
developing and implementing advanced
mobile ICT-based applications and ser-
vices.
This document covers considerations
that should be made when planning and
implementing mobile services. It covers
the technical and usability issues, how
they should be handled and what security
measures should be taken into account.
The focus is more on mGovernment ser-
vices development to be provided by the
government entities in the UAE via mobile
technologies and relevant devices.
The m-Government Guidelines can be
divided as follows:
- G2C Mobile Services (Notification, Live
Traffic SMS, Nearest Hospitals, etc.)
- G2B Mobile Services (Business Regis-
tration, Fee Enquiry, etc.)
- G2G Mobile Services (Patient’s Medical
History Sharing)
- G2E Mobile Services (BYOD, Hot Desk,
etc.)
