tificates, and certificate equivalency.

The Ministry has also fully transformed its

website to be responsive, meaning it is

compatible with all smartphone platforms.

It added a mobile service that can let us-

ers know within only 30 seconds whether

or not an educational institution approves

an application.

YSA reaches the top

The General Authority of Youth & Sports

Welfare (YSA) said that the transition into

smart services is 100% completed. YSA

has recently released a bundle of smart

services to its customers.

EIDA: We’ve covered a long way

on the transition road

Since His Highness Sheikh Mohammed

bin Rashid Al Maktoum launched the

mGovernment initiative, Emirates Identity

Authority (EIDA) has been racing against

time to complete the transition. It has been

one of the pioneering institutions to pro-

vide its customers with smart services.

EIDA released its first bundle consisting of

50 services on mobile devices. The servic-

es included ID card renewal for UAE and

GCC citizens, tracking application status

for all UAE residents, customizing user

file, sending suggestions and complaints,

notifications service and locating service

centers.

EIDA is always working on creating new

services and adding new features to the

smart ID card issued by EIDA for citizens

and residents. The aim is to support the

transition into an mGovernment, contrib-

ute in improving the quality of services of-

fered to the public and assist other agen-

cies in developing their services based on

the database provided by EIDA.

EIDA has covered a long way in enabling

its services on mobile and smart devices

and making them accessible to both the

public and private sector.

MOI offers 95% smart services

The Ministry of Interior (MOI) offers a total

of 339 services, 323 of which are smart

services accounting for more than 95% of

MOI’s services.

The MOI’s mobile apps offer an array of

services from licensing vehicles and driv-

ers to investigating criminal status, as-

sessing security and criminal information,

citizenship and residency services includ-

ing the issuance of entry permit for long

or short visit, entry permit for workers and

renewal of passports.

Civil defense services on mobile apps

included an establishment file, fulfillment

certificate, approval of engineering plans,

vehicles and tanks, awareness lectures,

locations, service centers, service cards,

calling 999 and SMS on 5999, social me-

dia following and services through the call

center number 8005000.

The MOI is always seeking to find new

innovative ways to deliver services to the

public without the need for them to physi-

cally go to the service centers.

Thirty smart services from SZHP

Sheikh Zayed Housing Program (SZHP)

provides 30 different services, 18 of which

are for applicants, 12 for consultants and

3 for contractors.

120,000 users of Ministry of La-

bor’s app

The Ministry of Labor estimated average

time to complete it transactions on smart-

phones to be 3 minutes. Over 112,000

users have downloaded the Ministry’s mo-

bile app.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Labor

had recently won the Best Mobile Govern-

ment Service award in the Economy and

Commerce sector at the national level dur-

ing the third Government Summit 2015.

The Ministry of Labor’s app focuses on a

strategic objective, which is providing high

quality services to be accessible around

the clock and anywhere according to an

innovative, fresh and user-friendly design.

80 smart services from Dubai Police

Dubai Police offers 80 smart services on

its mobile app. The app was downloaded

729,445 times until Q1 2015.

Users have completed 375,187 transac-

tions on Dubai Police’s mobile app until

Q1 2015, with 11,744,556 inquiries.

MoFA services on smartphones

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of-

fers customers an array of mobile services

include the “Tawajudi” service to the UAE

citizens abroad enabling easy communi-

cation between the UAE missions and
