Smart inspector monitors
2385 health facilities and
26563 professionals in Dubai
Dubai Health Authority (DHA)
launched the smart inspection system
for health professionals and facilities
in Dubai using smart phone devices.
Through this system, DHA aims to
enhance its monitoring role, achieve
maximum protection of patients’ rights
and ensure the provision of high-qual-
ity health services in Dubai public and
private sectors.
Dr. Ramadan Ibrahim, director of DHA
Health Regulation Department men-
tioned that DHA started implementing
this system to monitor health profes-
sionals and facilities; DHA inspectors
were supplied with modern devices
electronically connected to “Sheryan”
licensing system at DHA.
He said that the system enables
health inspectors to immediately iden-
tify the condition, type, classification,
licensing and tasks of the health fa-
cility. It provide them with all informa-
tion on the facility and its application
of the licensing conditions and criteria
approved by DHA.
He added that the new systemcontrib-
uted in reinforcing work efficiency and
performance according to a method-
ology that takes into account the ap-
plication of the best quality standards
and practices in line with the emirate’s
compliance with values and concepts
of efficiency and professionalism.
He stressed that the new system en-
ables health inspectors to accurately
inspect the health facility, saves time
and effort, speeds up procedures and
works on documenting the work pro-
cedures and violations issued against
the health facility or professional; vio-
lations are issued electronically and
immediately and might be a warning,
fine or temporary or permanent shut-
down of the facility.
Male Update for Mavericks
Apple releases an updated Mail application for Mavericks.
After launching OS X 10.9, a number of users complained that the op-
eration system has numerous glitches on the Mail app with an impact on
Gmail.
US-based Apple said the company is aware of these issues and currently
working on solving them. It pre-released the Mail app update to its em-
ployees and AppleSeed participants.
Apple mentioned that the update should fix the Gmail issues and customs
settings. It should also improve stability.

Spectrami, a company specialized in supplying information security, com-
munication network and infrastructure solutions projected that the infor-
mation security and data center electronic systems in the UAE will grow
25% at least in the coming year.
The company stressed that this growth will be supported by the fast-
paced transformation in the government entities in line with the initiative
of the smart government.
Anand Choudha, Spectrami Managing Director explained that for five
years, the UAE has been undergoing a huge technology transformation
leap in the government services sector. Electronic transformation has
been on the priority agenda of the UAE for consecutive years and now
the vast majority of the information and business government services are
found on website with high efficiency. This largely supported the growth of
employees in this sector.
He pointed out that his company which is fairly new in the market less
than three years old was able during last year to achieve a 600% growth
in its business through several contracts with the public and private sec-
tors. By the end of this year, it is expected to achieve new growth rate at
approximately 30% more than 2012.
