8.5 million visits to Zakat Fund webiste
The Zakat Fund website has attracted 8,529,854 visitors. Visitors were
either seeking to learn about the website, or use the “Zakat payment” ser-
vice which allows payment using credit card, calculate the Zakat amount
through the “Calculate my Zakat” service, or use the electronic Fatawa
service, in addition to learning about the Fund’s projects and Zakat banks.
The website is available in Arabic, English and Spanish to serve the di-
verse nationalities of the visitors. It is also trusted by zakat payers from
inside and outside the country.
Youtube approaches 300 million
watch hours per day
Daily Youtube users would view together
300 million hours of video, according to the
website’s report. Youtube is targeting a billion
viewing hours a day by 2016.
23 million non-human active ac-
counts on Twitter
Twitter has 23 million non-human active
accounts sending tweets automatically
without human input.
Twitter says that most of these tweets are
spams and the company will use all avail-
able means to fight them.
438 million active users on “waychat”
According to Tencent financial report for the second
quarter of 2014, its WeChat messaging app has 438
million monthly active users.
The figure shows that users of both WeChat and Weix-
in - the Chinese version of the app – has made growth
of 42 million compared to the first quarter figures.
300 thousand apps on Windows phone store
A new statistics for Microsoft revealed that the Windows Phone Store has more
than 300,000 apps.
Apparently, the Windows store started to gain developers’ satisfaction where in
the past year alone its app catalog has grown 94 percent, while the number of
active developers has grown by 50 percent.
