Controlling computers via the eye
Developers at the Danish company THE EYE TRIBE un-
veiled a technology and a low-cost device which allows us-
ers to control computers via eye movement.
The device, called THE EYE TRIBE TRACKER, consists
of a high-resolution sensor capable of tracking the user’s
eye movement and transforming them into orders to control
desktop or laptop computers or tablets.
The user can connect the device to any Windows-based
computers through USB 3.0 port. It works with devices with
up to 24-inch screens. Its dimensions are 20 × 1.9 × 1.6 cm
and weighs 130 grams.
Firefox the most stable browsers and
Explorer the worst
Internet Explorer has got the highest error percentage in the
tests conducted by Sauce Labs, a web app testing-as-a-ser-
vice company. The average error rate of Internet Explorer,
developed by Microsoft was 0.25%. Safari, developed by
Apple received a rate of 0.15% while Opera error rate was
0.13% followed by Chrome at 0.12% and then Firefox at
0.11%.
Sauce Labs pointed that Firefox, developed by Mozilla was
the most stable browser in all the tests conducted. Firefox
22 was the most stable among the latest releases of the
browsers. Firefox 22 didn’t show any errors in the tests while
Safari 6 was the worst among new browsers with an error
rate of 0.12%.
The Vibe X runs a 1.5 GHz, quad-core MTK
