anxiety, meditation, the difficulty in predicting
their actions, as well as the love of hobbies
and trips, the love of leadership, responsibility,
controlling things, meanwhile the family
disputes and ignoring the child and leaving
him/ her in front of TV, constant criticismshall
impede the creativity and innovation in the
child.
She noted that the features of creativity and
innovation appear in all spheres of human
activity, such as education, arts, management,
science and daily life itself, but in varying
degrees, calling parents and educators to
work on providing the necessary conditions
for all the elements of the educational system
in order to develop innovation in children in
order to be able to copewith the change in the
rapid world through innovative solutions.
She stressed building the creative and
innovative child through the discovery of his/
her talents and abilities, develop them and
directhis/herpotential energyandhelphimto
show it, thematter that cannot be done unless
by having confidence in those potentials
and capacities, noting that the creative and
innovative child is the one who is capable of
creating new and unique ideas and means to
configure things in the future.
Scientists refer that creativity is skill that can
be acquired, as 98% of creativity is a personal
effort, any individual can learn many tools
that generate creative directions in the child,
enrich themand led him/her to exciting ideas
and suggestions. The studies have also proven
that the rise in the IQ level is not necessarily
followed by high creative and innovative
capacities, rather than it only requires average
rate of intelligence.
Motivating innovation
From her side, assistant professor in
engineering department in Khalifa University,
the researcher Dr Fatima Taher confirmed the
necessity to encourage the students, motivate
them to innovate and urge them to study
scientific specializations, noting that there are
several factors that are necessary to support
and promote creativity and innovation in the
schools and universities in the country.
The researcher in Khalifa University explained
the most prominent factors supporting
innovation is the need to abandon central
which is regarded as the main obstacle, and
grant the educational districts and schools
more freedom to create and innovate, and
qualify the teacherwithmodernways tocreate
which shall make him able to create creative
environment for the students as well as the
establishment of centres for innovation in all
the institutions of the country.
Dr Taher believes that it is necessary to allocate
no less than 1% of the government institutions
budget for innovation, providing that the
process of consolidating and strengthening
the innovative skills must start from
kindergarten.Moreover, shecalledfor thework
to manufacture scientific Emirati product
with international standards under the slogan
«Made in UAE», and paying attention to the
creatorsand innovators toproduceknowledge
in addition to the organization of the creative
conferences in schools, universities and
institutions which shall contribute in mutual
sharing of ideas and solutions.
Brainstorming is the iconof creativity
director of Graduate Studies Department,
Assistant Professor in the Department of
computer Engineering and Electronics at
Khalifa University, Dr. Yousef Al Hammadi,
confirms that the brainstorming sessions
in various sectors, whether in working
institutions or school or university educational
authorities, contribute promoting innovation
opportunities among employees in different
fields inor students inschoolsanduniversities.
He added that brainstorming sessions
organized by governments and ministries
have proved its effectiveness and came up
with many effective community initiatives
which were beneficial to all the categories
and members of the society, as experts and
officials share ideas, challenges, problems
and solutions from their life or practical or
academic or research experience, which
contributes in new creations and innovations.
Hammadi stressed on the need to apply
brainstorming sessions on a daily or weekly
basis in schools, universities and in the various
sectors and departments, but not limited to
a particular specialization without the other,
