for the politics category, as His Excellency is
considered one of the first Arab politicians
who created a private account on the social
networking sites, and he is accounted as one
of the most interactive and communicative
arab politicians with the people across those
platforms.
Audience and interaction
The honoring for media category included
the Saudi programs presenter Ahmed
Alshuqairi who is one the most Arabs
influencers by his presence and interaction
on the social media networks, the presenter
Khawater program and ‘Qomra’ program
on MBC TV Channel for his influential role
through the socialmediawitha total number
of followers exceeds 38 million followers
around the world, including more than 16
millionfollowersonTwitter and14millionon
Facebook, and nearly eight million followers
on Instagram.
The Emirati artist Hussein Aljasmi, the
Ambassador of Extraordinary Goodwill won
the award of arts for his efforts in which he
invested the social media to deliver the real
message of the artist.
For the tolerance and positiveness category,
the Emirati journalist and writer Yaser Harb
won the award for using the social media to
enhance the values of tolerance, and mental
approaching and coexistence in the Arab
societies.
Improving tourism industry
His Highness Mohammad Bin Rashid
Al Maktoum honored the winners in the
institutions sector. The beginning was
with tourism. Fly Emirates won the award
which was received by His Highness Sheikh
Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chief
Executive of Emirates Group for the great
role of ‘Fly Emirates’ in employing the social
Media networks in promoting tourism and
travel and launching unique advertising
campaigns.
Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin
Abdul-Aziz charitable foundation ‘Misk Al
Khaieriya’ won the award for community
service category for its outstanding role in
encouraging initiatives, volunteer work,
empowering the society to learnanddevelop
in the fields of business, arts, culture and
social and technological sciences.
UAE Ministry of Interior won within the
category of government sector. The award
was delivered by His Highness Sheikh
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to
His Highness Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin
Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister
of Interior. The ministry has exerted great
model efforts inusing social media networks
to communicate with the citizens, the
residentsandthevisitors.Withinthecategory
of Education, ‘Queen Rania Foundation
for Education and Development’ won the
award for providing innovative educational
methodsinJordanandtheregionwhichmay
contribute in making positive change in the
academic and scientific orientations.
For media category ‘Sky News Arabia’
won for its role in serving the society
and broadcasting the news, information
and investigations which contribute in
developing the society.
Audience Award
The organizing committee of the summit
has recently introduced the award ‘audience
category’ in order to allow those who follow
and use the social media networks to one
of the arab influencers on the social media
networks who have a significant impact
in the development of their communities
through interaction and promoting positive
communication.
This award Media has been won by Sports
program presenter Mustafa Al Aga who
presents ‘Sada Almalaeb’ on ‘MBC’.
Arab Social Media Influencers Award has
witnessed great response and interaction
from most of the Arab countries and
nomination applicationswere received from
21 countries, only 87% were arab countries.
The award has received participations from
the Arabs residing in foreign countries.
