International Telecommunications Union ( ITU) in recognition
of her role in achieving equality between the two genders in the
domain of telecommunications and Information Technology
worldwide.

The honouring of the ‘Mother of the Nation’ by the International
Telecommunication Union’ is not considered the first by
international and regional organizations, rather it is one of the
seriesof houringandappreciationawarded toherHighnesson the
regional and internalional level for her pivotal role in supporting
and empowering UAE women in all fields whether in the the Arab
region or worldwide.
Her Highness is considered a role model in leadership who is
devoting her life to serve her country and instilling noble values
in the UAE women and opening the doors of participation and
development for them.
Mother of the nation represents a unique model of the Emirati
and Arab women with her unstoppable achievements and
contributions on the national, regional and international level in
thedomainsofwomenempowerment, child, youth, humanitarian
missions, supporting world peace and enhancing dialogue
between civilizations and cultures, in addition to the development
issues in their comprehensive concept the matter that made Her
Highness aglobal icon forworkandgiving for development, peace
and stability. Her highness is uniquely appreciated by the related
regional and international insititutions and the international
organizations.
The international awards are the harvest of Her Highness long
march which is full of giving and dermination to encounter the
problems and obstacles regardless of their difficulty in order to
achieve the national goals in empowering women, improving
their desirable status in the society, the comprehensive
development vision, presenting a positive image of the Arab
woman to the world and enhancing the woman’s role in dealing
with the challenges that encounter the world.

Houlin Zhao, Secretary-General of ITU confirmed in his speech in
the occasion of ‘theMother of theNation’ honouring said ‘Sheikha
Fatima is a pioneer in women’s empowerment in the UAE, and we
appreciate her efforts and activities to empower women in the
area of modern technology’.
This edition shed light on the outcomes of Emirates Innovation
Week which has been recently changed to Emirates Innovation
Month upon the instructions of His Highness SheikhMohammed
Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, PrimeMinister and Dubai
Ruler to conduct core changes on the third session of ‘Emirates
Innovation Week’ including its name to become ‘Emirates
Innovation Month’. The session will be held from February 1st to
February 28th 2018. This change was made after the huge success
of the second session which witnesses a wide social interaction
with around 1250 innovative events around UAE.
This step confirms UAE faith that innovation is the major
dynamic engine to the economic development and the main
tool to accomplish a sustainable knowledge – based – economy.
Therefore, our wise leadership does not save any efforts to push
UAE towards the sustainable and comprehensive development
and providing all kinds of support to enable all the citizens and
national institutions to develop their abilities to cope with the
deveopments in all the domains by adopting innovation and
creativity as a lifestyle.
Accordingly, university students have called through
‘e-government’ to adopt and support the projects of the university
and school students whether financially or spiritually or by
providing the appropriate environment to execute the projects
including scientific laboratories, organizing conferences,
exhibitions and scientific competitions that encourage the
students to search and innovate.
The idea is about creating ‘Happiness Bank’ which is an electronic
device and a smart application that are used by the government
sector employees to express their happiness and spreadhappiness
in the establishment by gifting ‘Happiness Checques’ to their
colleagues at work in order to establish the gratitude culture.
In this edition, we have interviewed the Emirati Inventor who
has strongly deserved the title of ‘The Youngest Emirati Inventor’
whose talent was first noticed at the age of seven while at the age
of thirteen, she has presented ten inventions innational, scientific
and humanitarian domains. She has received the UAE Pioneers
medal from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al
Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler, May
Allah Protect Him, to be one of 44 Emiratis who are UAE Pioneers
in different sectors on 2015.
