His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin
Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President
and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai,
May Allah Protect Him, gave his orders
to make fundamental changes to the
third session of Emirates Innovation
Week, including its name to become
UAE Innovation Month.
The changes include organizing the
next session between 1st to 28th of
February 2018 in light of the great
success achieved by the second
session held on November 26, which
has witnessed great social interaction
with about 1250 innovative event in
UAE

and the next session in February 2018
Core changes coping with the great response with the second summit
His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah
Al Gergawi, chairman of the National
Committee for Science, Technology and
Innovation, confirmed that the instructions
of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin
RashidAlMaktoumtomakequalitychanges
to the structure and shape ‘Emirates
InnovationMonth’ include the expansion of
this national event to celebrate innovation
and innovators, on several levels, and attract
the best innovations in UAE.
His Excellency said ‘The great turnout to
participate in organizing and attending
the events from all segments of society
and government, private, institutional and
academic institutions, has constituted a key
factor in the great success and a motivation
to develop this innovative experiment and
upgrade it to a new level.
Enabling innovators
His Excellency Mohammed Al Gergawi
explained that the adoption of Emirates
Innovation Month aims to empower
innovators and employees of government,
agencies and participants fromall segments
of society to have access to all the events
and visit what is offered by the participating
parties, and give them the opportunity
and sufficient time to visit the events in all
parties and UAE.
He said: ‘Emirates Innovation Month shall
witness great major events in each emirate
that are open for audience all around the
month. He stated that during the year 2017,
a number of the great major initiatives that
are supporting innovation in UAE will be
announced.
Al Gergawi explained that these changes
are the result of the great echo that was
achieved by this course. We have received
many applications from international
organizations
to
hold
innovation
conferences inside UAE, referring that the
next session will witness the organization
of several international events that are
connected to innovation.
The president of the National Committee
for Science, Technology and Innovation
added that UAE government is an
interactive government with the aspirations
of the society and accommodate new
ideas and accelerate their application and
trial. Moreover, the government adopts a
futuristic approach that provides ability
to plan solutions to the challenges of the
future on the short, mediumand long levels.
Great interaction
His Excellency said: ‘UAE society expressed
a big passion for innovation and the future
through its interaction with the activities of
the second session, and a desire to adopt
and apply the principles of innovation and
the search for solutions to the challenges
in untraditional ways and futuristic tools,
