excellence, quality and transparency
a great importance. It further seeks to
make excellence an essential component in
different governmental work environment
through competition between different bodies
and building capacities and qualification
of personnel in order to achieve the best
administrative practices in provision of
services. However, the Government spares no
efforts in order to motivate the government
bodies to improve their performance levels
and work mechanisms in internal sectors
through excellence exhibitions and programs
because it is has a pivotal role in establishing
innovation and excellence in personnel and
motivating them to develop their skills at all
times.
No doubt, the excellence is a strategic choice in
UAEanditplaysapivotalroleinUAEvision2021.
Therefore, the government seeks to provide
all personnel in the government bodies with
innovation means through an environment
in which all innovators and contributors
professional efforts will be honored.

Government
Achievements Exhibition, organized by Dubai
Government Excellence Program under
“local governments – global achievements”
in which different ministries and local and
federal bodies participated, is one of the great
exhibitions that take place in UAE in general
and Dubai in particular. In addition, it seeks
to enhance excellence which greatly promote
UAE transformation into knowledge economy.
HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al
Maktoum, UAE Vice-President, PrimeMinister,
Ruler of Dubai described the exhibition as a
constructive competition platform between
government bodies in order to improve
service levels rendered to the customers
of all society fabrics. Moreover, it provides
comfort, assurance and happiness to all people
and it saves time and effort in execution of
transactions and maintenance of the high
national interest.
The issue 32 of the smart magazine dedicates
a report for the government achievements
exhibition in which 24 international
government bodies from 18 countries
participated. It focuses on the participating
parties’ efforts and smart services.
As m-government undertakes since the first
issue to shed light on the hacking risks and
presents latest technologies to combat it,
this issue presents a report on the latest virus
known as ransomware Telecommunications
Regulatory Authority TRA has warned about it.
TRA explains that this virus is a malware
can affect many devices in houses and
organizations such as smart phones and
computers and encrypt their data and make
it inaccessible. Security experts consider that
2016 is a year of ransomwares after new issues
of such patterns of viruses have been widely
spread from time to time.
In this issue, m-government interviewed
Jason Hart- VP and CTO of data protection
in Gemalto, a leading company in digital
security who gave advice of three steps in
order to limit the total cost and adverse side
effects caused from security breaches. These
recommended steps are: Encrypt all sensitive
information in the fixed and mobile locations;
maintain security and smart management
of organization –related encryption keys,
and access control and verification of user id.
These three steps have to be executed in IT
infrastructure environment which makes it
well-prepared for all kind of cyber attacks.
