Topic:

The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology has developed a list of technical requirements for registering unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for recreational and commercial use in the UAE. Drone products are classified under the following categories:

1- Recreational

2- Commercial

3- Research and development

All products must conform with specific requirements before being imported, sold, assembled and/or operated within the country's airspace, including:

1- Obtaining a valid Product Status Letter (CoR) from the Ministry's Conformity Sector

2- The product must have a product label

3- The product must have the serial number

4- The product may not be fitted with any audio and/or video recording device(s)

Objectives:

·       Inform the public about safe and approved products for use in the countryand obtain the public's feedback

·       Provide a central platform to register all drone operators

·       Ensure that drone users and products comply with requirements

·       Help maintain the security and safety of air navigation in the country

·       Regulating drone operations
