The decision to establish the union affirms the wisdom which was demonstrated by the UAE leadership throughout the ages, emphasizing that such decision was a milestone in the UAE history, which had taken but less than 47 years to make its own distinctive mark on the world map as one of the best leading development models in the world.

Additional that at a time of fragmentation of some nation-state, the founding fathers were well aware that their strength lies in their unit, therefore, they determinedly worked under the leadership of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan, may God bless him, to establish the State Union, which, in addition to the adoption of the responsibility to national advancement and promotion of citizens, contributed to the strengthening of the values of human civilization among peoples, and carried out its responsibilities in promoting the development plans in many countries. This has given it respect and confidence of everyone.

The success of the union depended, in part, on the citizens’ perceptions that the way to achieving the comprehensive renaissance begins with joining hands together and support a unified leadership. Moreover, working in a spirit of community with an optimistic view to the future will ensure that they will move towards this future armed with strength and knowledge. Today they prove that they were ready as they are reaping the fruits of their success by celebrating in this historic event, stressing that the union remains the choice and the destiny that brings them together to overcome obstacles of today's challenges as well as to face the threats of the future.

UAE has been and will continue to be a champion of unity among peoples as the UAE has experienced the positive effects of such unity. To that extent, the UAE proves every single day its ability to read the reality and deal with it constructively in accordance with its vision of the future. In this regard, the UAE established a ministry for tolerance and another one for happiness because it is convinced that the way to strengthen the union begins with the consolidation of the values of tolerance and promote the environment of happiness in society, thereby reaffirming its ambition to provide a dignified life for its people remains its major concern and its ultimate goal.
