The announcement
by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United
Arab Emirates, designating 2025 as the "Year of the Community" under the theme
"Hand in Hand", marks a significant milestone in the nation's developmental
journey. It ushers in a renewed phase of progress and prosperity, one that is
firmly rooted in the enduring principles of the UAE's governance-where human
beings remain the central pillar of all national aspirations for advancement
and growth.
This visionary
initiative seeks to unleash the latent potential of individuals, families, and
institutions by stimulating innovation, nurturing talent, and championing
entrepreneurship, particularly in future-oriented industries and
knowledge-based sectors, such as advanced technologies and artificial
intelligence. This strategic national endeavor aims to foster inclusive
economic growth and build a sustainable, prosperous future for both citizens
and residents of the UAE.
In alignment
with this ambitious national direction, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA)
has firmly positioned itself at the vanguard of federal entities committed to
translating the principles of the "Year of the Community" into impactful,
measurable action. The Ministry has adopted a holistic and integrated vision
that elevates the concept of quality of life, placing the health and well-being
of its employees and their families at the forefront of its strategic agenda.
This approach recognizes employees as fundamental pillars in the establishment
of an innovative, high-performing institutional ecosystem-one that embodies the
UAE's values and its civilizational mission on both domestic and international
fronts.
Reinforcing its
ongoing commitment to institutional support that resonates with the real needs
of its workforce, and driven by an unwavering belief in the role of health
stability in improving performance and driving productivity, MoFA has
formalized a number of strategic partnerships with leading national healthcare
institutions. Chief among these are Memoranda of Understanding signed with both
Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City and Mediclinic Middle East. These agreements aim
to elevate the Ministry's healthcare framework by providing specialized medical
services and exclusive health benefits that empower employees to safeguard
their physical and mental well-being, within a healthy, secure, and
motivational work environment.
MoFA's
commitment to health empowerment extends beyond clinical care, encompassing
awareness-raising and educational dimensions. The Ministry has actively engaged
in a series of national health campaigns designed to enhance public awareness
and promote preventive care-most notably the "We Care" campaign, conducted in
collaboration with Sheikh Khalifa Medical City as part of Abu Dhabi Global
Healthcare Week. This campaign provided a suite of medical screenings, expert
consultations, and mental health services, further demonstrating the Ministry's
steadfast dedication to establishing a model of governance that honors the
individual as a complete and valued member of society.
In parallel, the
Ministry has maintained a proactive approach to enhancing employee satisfaction
and well-being by offering a broad portfolio of exclusive benefits and
partnerships with entities across both the public and private sectors. Among
these collaborators are Etisalat by e&, Ali & Sons, and Emirates Motor
Company. These partnerships are part of a wider set of initiatives aimed at
delivering meaningful, tangible advantages rooted in appreciation, empowerment,
and sustained support-initiatives that respond to the evolving needs and
aspirations of MoFA's personnel.
In a further
demonstration of its institutional commitment to fostering a harmonious
work-life balance, the Ministry has recently inaugurated a new,
state-of-the-art nursery within its premises. Operated by a distinguished early
childhood education provider accredited by the relevant national authorities,
the nursery offers a fully integrated educational program designed to meet the
developmental needs of different age groups, all while adhering to the highest
standards of safety and care. This initiative represents a natural extension of
MoFA's employee well-being framework and a practical embodiment of its drive to
enable staff members to successfully balance professional responsibilities with
family commitments-enhancing stability, improving productivity, and reaffirming
the Ministry's human-centric policy philosophy.
