On 27 August 2020, Ministry of Education and National Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) announced that nurseries and childcare centres can re-open after they gain approval from the relevant authorities on the condition of undertaking all precautionary and preventive measures to contain the spread of COVID-19.

On 27 August 2020, Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) announced on its Twitter account that all nurseries in Abu Dhabi must undergo health and safety inspections and receive a no-objection certificate from ADEK in order to re-open. All staff must undergo mandatory COVID-19 online training.

Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) mentioned on its Twitter account that nurseries in Sharjah will be allowed to re-open from 4 October 2020, in accordance with strict controls and measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
