Smart payment channels

To ease payment of fees for government services, the UAE Government provides multiple payment options. Besides cash payment over the counter, most federal ministries and local entities facilitate digital payment in a secure cyber environment. This page covers the various smart payments options.

Smart payment channels

Following are some of the smart payment channels in the UAE:

  1. Websites – Government entities in the UAE have an official website through which they accept payment of fees for their services.
  2. Apps – Government entities offer services through official apps and payment can be made through these apps as well.
  3. Electronic kiosks - Several government service providers install electronic kiosks in malls, business centres and other public places for payment of bills and other service charges. To pay via electronic kiosks, you need to provide account details and follow the steps required to finish the transaction.
  4. Apple Wallet/Samsung Pay/RTA eWallet - The eWallet from Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has an eWallet, which you can use to pay for its services.
  5. Digital cards – digital cards are used for paying for transportation services. These include: the Hafilat card and the Mawaqif card (in Abu Dhabi), the Nol card (in Dubai), and the Sayer card (in Sharjah).
  6. Banks - Government entities accept payments through debit and credit cards. Most banks also offer the facility of auto-payment from their debit or credit cards.
  7. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) – RFID is used to collect road toll (Salik) in Dubai.
  8. Digital payment platforms – these include Abu Dhabi Pay and Dubai Pay.

 

Abu Dhabi Pay

Abu Dhabi Pay is a digital payment platform within the ecosystem of Abu Dhabi government services. It offers multiple safe payment options, one-time payments for multi-party services, and a unified customer experience on all government channels.

 

You can use Abu Dhabi Pay while paying through portals, mobile apps, cash deposit machines and point of sale (POS) devices. You can also choose from several payment methods such as: eDebit, eWallet, credit cards and cash.

DubaiPay app

DubaiPay app enables service providers and government agencies to offer 24/7 payment facility to their customers. It enables digital payments through different channels such as websites, kiosks, smart phones and smart devices. It provides various payment options such as credit/debit cards, wallets, net banking and Apple Pay.

 

DubaiNow app

You can pay for services of Dubai government and private sector companies through the DubaiNow app.
