and to this report in particular as guidance

to explore the global trends and to know

the competitive position of our country

worldwide. This is an important matter, as

our national vision 2021 is based on a shared

promise for all of us, which requires that the

UAE will be one of the best countries in the

world.

It is notable that the report has given

the UAE a full mark in the first and

second levels of smart government

services, kindly tell us about your plans

to promote services in higher levels, i.e.

the third and fourth?

After completing the first phase of smart

government at the federal level, we conducted

a comprehensive evaluation of conditions

in view of directives of our wise leadership,

to focus on the concepts of quality, usage,

connection, satisfaction / happiness. Based

on our experiences, we are sure that the third

and fourth levels can be achieved through

adopting such concepts that focus around the

user / client.

Do you have specific projects in this

field?

Yes, we are going to see good results in some

projects that are about to be completed,

including (Smart Pass) Project, (GSP) project,

Unified Portal Services and Electronic

Participation Portal. We further look forward

to promoting the National Open Data Portal.

With regard to the Electronic

Participation, what is your comment on

the result of this index in the UN report?

The UAE together with the Kingdom of

Bahrain ranked first in the Arab world in this

index and 32nd globally. We are working

now on a comprehensive plan to upgrade

the UAE status in this index throughout the

world. We further have practical perceptions

to achieve that matter, and you will see the

results soon.

What is your comment on the result

of the total index, i.e. the E-Government

Development Index, as the UAE ranked

29th globally?

Yes, we advanced three rankings, as we

ranked 32 in 2014, and now we reached 29th

globally. It isworthmentioning that this index

includes three sub-indexes, which are Smart/

Electronic Services Index, Human Capital

Index and Telecommunication Infrastructure

index. Our plan for the upcoming stage

includes enhancing these indexes from

one hand and ensuring that all international

bodies have and access to all updated and

accurate data related to these indexes on the

other hand.
