-What is the objective of formation
of society specialized in awareness
of internet-related risks?
The society objective which plays a control
and consultancy role, is to raise awareness
in local communities about internet-related
risks in order to help people to use internet
services properly and to protect children
from internet risks though education
and building capacities with different
shareholders and partners to contribute to
the country progress and prosperity.
The society further seeks to educate and
raise awareness and to prevent cyber
blackmail to the extent possible and to
raise awareness in public general in order
to keep privacy and to adhere to Islamic
noble principles and values in this regard in
addition to ethical conduct rules.
-What are the society long term
objectives to be achieved in future?
The society seeks to apply the best
international practices in child protection
field on internet and to attract the best
international experiences to UAE and to help
inthisregard.Thiswillcontributetoproviding
safe digital environment protecting children
rights and to enjoy internet positive content
suitable to their ages. It also seeks to serve
as an international accepted center in child
protection on internet by 2021.
-What are the awareness programs
the society intends to launch to
protect children from internet
crimes?
The society developed a plan for students
and personnel education on recently-
emerged
internet-related
risks
and
protection from terrorism and extremism
promoters on social media channels and
this is the society first objective.
The society also has immediate action
programs through national awareness
campaigns in order to develop a framework
at a national level to conduct effective
education and awareness campaign in
children safety on internet nationwide.
The society also organizes electronic safety
day in UAE in which it will celebrate the
international safer internet day in February
each year especially in schools in order to
promote safer and more responsible use of
internet in school children.
The society further seeks to design
presentable materials for schools and it will
be freely downloadable in the society official
websites.
The society also seeks to target the
companies personnel for whom it will
conduct training courses about digital
education for children and development
of technical measures in situational
environment in order to ensure full
compliance
with
child
protection
standards. Furthermore, the society
will contribute to developing support
solution of law enforcement and proposal
for universal framework to support the
Ministry of Interior and internet providers
in all UAE in order to combat children
abuse online.
The society will also enhance the social
area personnel capacities via development
of programs for personnel in this field. It
will further support e-therapy area through
provision of all skills necessary in order to
treat children who have been abused on
internet especially adolescences.
