to find Emirati talents
The Telecommunications Regulato-
ry Authority (TRA) innovation camp
aims to promote the culture of inno-
vation among Emirati youngsters in
the ICT field.
The camp targets kids aged 6-17
years old, and is held from 26 July-
20 August 2015 across the UAE.
The camp aims to help participating
students to develop life skills, man-
age tough situations, control their
emotions, improve self-confidence
particularly in critical situations, build
flexibility and emotional intelligence
and develop problem solving and
technical skills.
The camp also aims to improve
mental and emotional health, build
positive behavior, resist negative
pressures and enable participants
to build positive and fruitful rela-
tions and develop communication
skills with parents, teachers and col-
leagues. It further aims to support
the desire for learning, development,
self-organization, practicing self-
control and effectively addressing
future challenges.
H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri, TRA
Director General said that the TRA
innovation camp aims to enhance
and promote the culture of innova-
tion among young Emiratis in the
ICT field, which comes in line with
instructions from H.H. Sheikh Khalifa
bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Presi-
dent. He added that this commitment
towards the young generation is
part of our social responsibility, and
a continuance of many initiatives
that we have previously launched
across various areas of interest to
the youngsters, such as World Girls
in IT Day.
Al Mansouri said that the TRA adopts
a comprehensive approach and vi-
sion that is based on searching for
talented and efficient young Emiratis
in the ICT field, as well as develop-
ing and improving their skills in the
area. He believes that these events
offer a great opportunity to support
the young Emiratis and sponsor and
develop their knowledge and skills
and enable them to continue learn-
ing and training on many modern
technologies in a thoroughly innova-
tive and interactive manner. The TRA
strongly believes the youngsters are
the future and pillar of the UAE.
Events on applied technology are
held in Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah,
Fujairah and Etisalat Academy in
Dubai. The camp activities focus on
many important aspects such as IT,
creative and life skills, sports, self-
assessment, creation of the future,
etiquette in the UAE and purpose-
ful trips. Participants are required
to complete a group project to be
presented on the last day of the
camp.
