TRA holds training sessions on mGov platform

The Telecommunications Regu-
latory Authority (TRA) has an-
nounced the training schedule orga-
nized by the mGovernment Center of
Digital Innovation (CoDI) during the
3rd and 4th quarters of 2015. The
training aims to boost knowledge so-
ciety basic skills and serve as a driver
of innovation and research.
The TRA has launched a self-learning
training channel that includes short
training videos and can be accessible
on any smart device around the clock.
Subjects in the new training program
include ICT basics such as key con-
cepts, Internet browsing and e-com-
merce. Other areas covered include
best administration practices, ITIL ba-
sics, PMP and COBIT5 basics. Other
subjects focus on developing basics
skills including professional writing,
communication skills, service market-
ing and customer service.
Commenting on the importance of the
training programs held by CoDI, Ma-
jed Al Mesmar, TRA Deputy Director
Gen-
eral
said that
such
pro-
grams enable
users to gain criti-
cal and basic skills in
the ICT field as well as
general skills that can be
used across a variety of in-
dustries and sectors.
Al Mesmar added that he believes
the self-learning experience online
is a wonderful and innovative means
for interested people to enhance their
skills and improve their chances in
the job market. The experience also
contributes in the long-term in rein-
forcing the UAE’s position as a grow-
ing hub for smart government and
knowledge-based society.
He added that the TRA adopts the
vision and approach of
the UAE’s wise leader-
ship towards progress and
long-term growth, such ap-
proach that enabled the TRA
to provide these innovative and
ambitions programs. The TRA re-
alizes that the UAE’s people adopt
a modern and smart lifestyle based
on modern technology and innova-
tions that bolster the standard of liv-
ing.
The schedule of the training pro-
gram will be available on the mGov
training platform. Tutoring will be di-
rectly offered at CoDI at the TRA’s
headquarters in Dubai, while other
training channels will be available
online.
