Under the new structure, the organi-

zation is comprised of two main divi-

sions. The Strategy and Customer Ex-

perience division, which is responsible

for setting strategy and ultimate cus-

tomer experience through customer

engagement, features four separate

departments: Strategy and Innovation,

Customer Experience, Customer Re-

lations Management and Marketing &

Corporate Communication.

The second division, Technology and

Solutions, is responsible for the devel-

opment and implementation of best

practices, infrastructure, applications

and innovation. This division includes

five departments: Infrastructure, Smart

Services, Government Resources

Planning Services, Information Secu-

rity and Information Analysis.

The Executive Council Resolu-

tion No (27) of 2015 enables Dubai

Smart Government to carry out

its responsibilities in building a

knowledge-based community by

supporting Dubai Government’s

smart transformation and help-

ing government departments

provide innovative smart ser-

vices based on advanced and

innovative technologies and ac-

cording to the best international

practices. This should have

positive impact on the qual-

ity and efficiency of smart and

electronic services provided by

government entities in Dubai Govern-

ment.

DSG is tasked with developing strate-

gies for the Smart Government as well

as providing direction, supervision and

consulting services and mutual servic-

es to government entities. This should

save the cost of redesigning such ser-

vices and provide such entities with an

opportunity to focus on building their

own special services.

The Resolution also aims to enhance

the operational efficiency of DSG’s

departments and sections and ensure

alignment with both DSG Strategy

2014-2017 and Dubai Plan 2021, and

in accordance with accredited perfor-

mance indicators. This should ensure

accuracy and speed for users to ac-

cess government services based on

the latest smart channels, technolo-

gies and advanced solutions and

based on an innovation-based ap-

proach to provide services.

The organizational structure adopts

the principle of designing smart gov-

ernment services according to cus-

tomer personal experience, which en-

hances the popularity of government

services and customer happiness.

DSG Director General Ahmed Mo-

hammed Bin Humaidan said that

“Dubai Smart City”, the slogan cho-

sen by Vice President and Prime Min-

ister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin

Rashid Al Maktoum, will be adopt-

ed as DSG’s own slogan in the next

phase of its operations. Bin Humaidan

said that sustaining Dubai’s growth

and achievements will require a ro-

bust Smart Government guided by an

effective strategic plan.

The DSG Director General said the

new organizational structure will

better empower the organization

to keep pace with rapid develop-

ments taking place in the country

and enhance its ability to provide

innovative smart solutions that can

accelerate Dubai government’s

transformation into a smart gov-

ernment, based on the best appli-

cations, infrastructure and mutual

services provided by DSG to the

public.
