Smart applications has entered all aspects of life thanks to the growing
popularity of smart phones and tablets, leading to doubled interest in in-
novating apps that give us a one-click life. Popularity of those apps can be
attributed to the wide range of free apps available on Apple, Google, Black-
berry, Amazon and Microsoft app stores, tackling all our daily life aspects,
such as communication, messaging, using social media channels, keep
abreast with latest news, entertainments and games.

At the end of each year the giant app
stores unveil long lists of the most popular
apps throughout the year. Evaluations are
done based on several factors, including
popularity, number of downloads, role in
users’ lives and their multi-area effects.
The apps are also assessed from eco-
nomic perspective as well as the features
and benefits they offer to all stakeholders,
being companies, individuals or countries.
At last, Apple published its annual list of
what it considers to be the year’s most
standout apps. The App store receives
more than hundred thousand iOS-oper-
ated apps throughout the year, however,
few of them meet Apple’s aspirations.
The winner of the ‘Best iPhone App of
2014’ was Elevate, an app designed to
train brain and increase memory and
concentration capabilities. Instagram’s
sped-up video tool, Hyperlapse, a tech-
nique combining time-lapse and sweeping camera movements in just two clicks, took
