showcases 4 of its smart apps
Dubai Municipality’s Knowledge Man-
agement Department showcased its
latest smart apps for the Dubai Munici-
pality’s services during the Information
Technology Best Practices Forum. This
comes as part of the educational ap-
proach to the municipality’s employees
with the aim to develop their capabilities
and introduce the smart apps released
following Gitex week.
The forum introduced four smart sys-
tems, which are designed by DM’s
Knowledge Management Department
within the framework of its electronic ser-
vices. These smart apps include the land
explorer app, the first of its kind world-
wide to show land data.
The “land explorer” app provides infor-
mation on the emirate’s lands and maps,
as the app links the map, data, legisla-
tion and information planning map and
legislation database.
The app has several benefits such as
providing the necessary support and
contribution in preparing studies at the
department’s various divisions, thus
saving much time and effort.
The app also contributed in supporting
the strategic partners of the Dubai Mu-
nicipality (DM), as it offered many posi-
tive outcomes such as supporting deci-
sion-making at the Dubai government by
giving access to informa-
tion, supporting property
trade at land stocks and
auctions, giving access
to the Department of Eco-
nomic Development to
view the authorized uses before issu-
ing commercial licenses, giving access
to real time data about planning areas,
land uses, protection of buyers and fast
completion of transactions thanks to
availability of information and quality and
accuracy of end product.
The Parks & Beaches app offers gen-
eral information about the parks in the
emirates, particularly search, trip plan,
sea condition, images of the parks and
beaches, special instructions to park
and beach goers for their protection and
shortest ways to the parks, gardens and
beaches in the emirate. This is all done
in a thorough and meticulous manner.
Najim Suhail app provides weather
forecast channels, their distribution and
data monitored by channels and stages
of development. Alif app specializes in
pet care. It includes a map of pets in the
emirate and information about maintain-
ing and protection animal re-
sources and immunizing them
against diseases in order to
protect public health.
