Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri
mGovernment Initiative Director
With
this issue of mGov, we are few days away of half the pe-
riod decided for accomplishing the mGovernment Initiative
launched by our wise leadership. This deadline is indeed too short to talk
about significant achievements. However, for Emiratis, it is ample time
to make record achievements since the establishment of the UAE by the
founding fathers.
We have the right then to talk proudly of many of the achievements made
over the course of the recent months, but I will only point out some of the
key points:
1) The successes made cannot be attributed to one individual or entity.
They are the outcome of efforts exerted by teams in the various local and
federal government agencies in our beloved UAE. It is a great harmony
of coordinated work among people who came together upon the love and
dedication to their country and loyalty to their wise leaders. Management
experts talk about the importance of team work and collaboration when
promoting their interesting equation "one plus one equals three" and we are
guided by what His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,
UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has said that
"one plus one equals eleven". This is the true secret to our present success
and future success, God willing.
2) Any success made may lead to an opposite result if yielding to relaxation
or negligence. Therefore, I call upon mGov team members across all fed-
eral and local government agencies to continue working at the same pace
to reach the result our country if worth of, which we shall be proud to attain.
3) Success can be a shining glory, but can also have its challenges, the
most prominent of which are maintaining leadership. We have set our
minds at mGov to achieve the leading position for our country. This requires
us to double the efforts and continue to exert them.
4) The mGovernment Initiative accomplishment within the deadline is not
the end; it can be the beginning of something bigger. This major national
project involves multiple aspects, the most prominent of which is the social
aspect. mGov, like its predecessor the eGov, marks a major transition in the
behavior of service providers and users alike. Under this major transition,
we shall witness changes in how we manage data, information, services
and devices. We shall also witness new mechanisms for collaboration and
interaction between systems and humans. The ultimate goal is always the
happiness of customers.
I conclude by stating that we shall go from one success to another while
looking at the future with confidence, faith and certainty that we will achieve
what we aim for, God willing.
Confident Outlook
to the Future
