adopts Integrated Government Strategy for future forecast in UAE
Under directives of UAE President
Upon the directives of His Highness Sheikh
Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the
United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh
Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktou, Vice
President and Prime Minister of the United
Arab Emirates and Emir of Dubai, approved
the «UAE Strategy for the Future», in the
Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and Future, which
aims at early forecasting opportunities and
challenges in all vital sectors of the state and
then analyzing them and developing long-
term proactive plans on all levels to realize a
quality accomplishments inorder to serve the
state interests.
His Highness SheikhMohammed Bin Rashid
stressed that theUAE looks at the futureasone
of the present components, adding that the
development which the UAE witnesses now
is a result of productive and rich experiences
extended through long decades based on
clear future visions.
«We are fond of the future, looking forward
to the future and this is the most important
reason behind our success we are going
through today», His Highness said, during
adopting the strategy.
«We seek to create an integrated government
system to forecast the future in all necessary
sectors, which are important for us with
a purpose of anticipating challenges and
seizing the moment», he said.
«The future bears opportunities, challenges
and knowledge, thus, the determination of
theseopportunities andchallenges early is the
most substantial step to deal with», he added.
He noted that the UAE Government strategy
for the future is comprehensive and focuses
on all sectors without exceptions. It is a
result of efforts, thought and vision of the
Emirati people for the future of their state, so
that the UAE could pass to the future safely.
Accordingly, such strategy is considered
an important document, in which the
government undertakes to reachanewphase
of national work based on proactive thinking.
The strategy has a short, medium and long
term course of action in order to reach a
future that help in upgrading the quality of
life, welfare levels and happiness of the UAE
People, and also realizes the best interests of
our state and people».
Future Forecast Scenarios
The strategy was announced in the presence
of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the
Crown Prince of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh
Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al
Maktoum is the deputy ruler of Dubai; His
Highness Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, minister
of interior and deputy prime minister; His
Highness Mansour bin Zayed bin Sultan
bin Zayed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, deputy
prime minister of the UAE and minister of
presidential affairs; Mohammad Bin Abdullah
Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and
The Future. The strategy aims at developing
governmentalsystemstomakefutureforecast
a part of the strategic planning process in the
governmental authorities. It also seeks to
launch studies and scenarios to forecast the
future in all vital sectors, and develop plans
and policies accordingly.
«The strategy aims at rooting the thought
of future government in the governmental
course of action, unifying efforts and
mobilizing energies towards the government
work in a clear framework, so that all people
find it easy to deal with the future within
certain axes and a clear style of work. It draws
thought and work mechanisms to build the
future, which requires us towork as one team,
in which we share roles and responsibilities
to reach the desired future government
that we want to be a model for sustainable
governmental, economic and developmental
work model to serve the people, and to be
a role model for the whole world», Sheikh
Mohammed Bin Rashid said.
«The Emirati people are the most important
capabilities for our future, we instructed to
develop an organized, substantial and strong
infrastructure to build the future and invest
in national cadres to realize sustainability in
the field of future forecast», he said, stressing
the importance of «exceeding the typical
and traditional thought methods to future
methods».
Modern Ideas
«As the world changes every moment, all
traditional thoughtmethods shall be changed
into another contemporary and modern
methods stemming from the spirit of the age
and this shall be translated into government
plans, initiatives, projects and policies.
Therefore, the governments have to match
their plans, programs, policies and legislations
with future trends and our government will
proactively adopt and consolidate this culture
and raise awareness of its importance in the
society», he added.
His Highness SheikhMohammed Bin Rashid
underscored that «I will follow-upmyself and
personally the commitment of authorities
to apply the strategy, and initiatives arising
from such strategy along with the its realized
outcomes. Hence, our government will a
future pioneer and a reference for all world
governments in turning it into a government
course of actionmodel that serve and benefit
our society, and realize and prosperity and
welfare in the region and the whole world».
He pointed out that the UAE has managed
to reach its pioneering status worldwide
tanks to leaving the traditional through and
focusing on early future forecast, adopting
proactive strategies and scenarios and taking
advantageofmoderntechnologiestomonitor
information, analyze data, and the optimal
use of human competencies. He noted that
the UAE managed to transfer challenges into
opportunities and launch proactive initiatives
able to draw the future features to face
challenges and changes that face use in our
march towards global leadership.
