The ministers› role will focus on leading the
forecast efforts through strategic thinking,
directing and harmonizing with the future
trends in a strategic manner and follow up its
applicationanddevelopstudies andscenarios
of its affiliated future and draw up plans and
policies thereupon.
The ministers will work on developing
studies and reports about the future of
sectors and entities they chair in a session
allocated for the issue of future in the
cabinet along with coordinating with local
government and private sectors over the
future of sectors.
The Key Performance Indicator in the field of
future is meant to develop plans, initiatives
and policies proposed upon a forecast and
scientific study of the future and its trends.
The ministers play an important role in
representing thestateandgovernment and its
initiative in the future each in their respective
area of specialization.
The Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the
Future will be a supporter and coordinator of
the future forecast efforts in order to support
future efforts, initiatives, projects andpolicies
of the governmental entities and follow up
their implementation. The ministry will
work on the strategic future studies and
reports, which will enable entities to work
on forecasting the future effectively. It will
also harmonize the governmental plans,
programs, policies and legislations with the
future trends.
Theministrywill work to enhance the culture
of future as a governmental trend, spread
awarenessofitsimportance,buildcapabilities,
and consolidate the UAE status as a global
destination for the future.
The future of sustainability
The UAE future strategy forces on several
subjects, includingvarious sectors: the futureof
humancapital, youthsandfutureof technology
and smart systems, future of sustainability,
environment, climate change, future of
infrastructure, transport means, future of
health, futureof education, futureof sustainable
development, future of positive and happy
life environment, future of energy, future of
economic and commercial security, future of
financial resources, future of government and
governmental services, future of relations and
future of electronic security.
Upon the UAE future strategy, several duties
have been added to the federal government,
called «The department of strategy and
future». This position will be in each
federal government entity. Hence, the UAE
governmentwill bepioneering increating the
post of director of strategy and future.
As for the axis of future capabilities, the UAE
leadership has directed to develop a strong
systematicandmaterial infrastructure tobuild
the future and invest in the national cadres.
The government will build capabilities
to realize sustainability in the field of
future forecast through listing the bases
of future forecast in a simplified way
in the educational curriculum through
missions tasked with building the national
capabilities in the field of the future
and launching the tools designated for
the UAE government and teaching the
specialization of future in the national
universities and in the programs of
building the governmental capabilities to
meet the needs of all sectors.
Through the axis of future destination, the
ministers will transfer their ministries into
a model of the future ministries, represent
the state as ambassadors of the future and
highlight the UAE›s future leadership in all
sectors.
Through the same axis, the government
will work to enhance the status of the
UAE as a world leadership destination
of the sustainable future through future
initiatives and thought platforms and
knowledge exchange in the field of future,
such as the World Government Summit,
and launching and hosting new world
initiative such as the annual meetings of
world future councils. The government
will also work to develop strategic
partnership with forums and future
thought centers and future platforms
and networks and universities inside and
outside the country.
