«We pledge to spread peace and

tolerance…Being grounded in Emirati

values is our message to the world»

Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime

Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai,

highlighted the role played by Emirati youth

in UAE’s development.

In tweets posted on Friday on the occasion

of International Youth Day, which falls on

August 12, Shaikh Mohammad tweeted: “Our

formula for development: it›s based on core

values, led by youth and focused on a future

in which everyone achieves happiness.”

Shaikh Mohammad also shared a YouTube

video, describing it as “our youth›s message

to the World on International Youth Day”.

The video is part of the National Emirates

YouthValuesProgram, under thepatronageof

Her Highness Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak,

Chairperson of the General Women’s

Union, Supreme Chairperson of the Family

Development Foundation and Chairwoman

of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and

Childhood.

In the video, Emirati youth send an

inspirational message to the world about

being grounded in Emirati values on the

occasion of International Youth Day‎. They

pledge to spread values of peace, tolerance

and respect of the other regardless of race, sex

or nationality.

In the videomessage, addressing theworld in

four languages, Shamma Al Mazrui, Minister

of State for YouthAffairs, says: «We, as Emirati

youth, respect everyone regardless of race,

religion, gender or nationality. Treating

people with respect is an integral part of our

UAE culture.»

The video features a number of UAE young

people sending their message to the world in

different languages, such as Arabic, English,

French, Japanese, Spanish, German, Korean,

Italian and Tagalog, among other languages.

Speaking three languages, Faisal Al Attar, who

is the first to speak in the video, says, «Our

Emirati values are our message to the world.

They reflect our identity. Through them, we

engage with the world to build a better future.

On the occasion of the International Youth

Day, we pledge to embody our values in all

our actions.»

Dubai Abulhoul, who speaks three languages,

says, «In a rapidly changing world, with

increasing risks andchallenges,we, asEmirati

youth, are committed to embodying our

country’s values of both tolerance andpeace.»

Mohammed says, «Goodmanners and ethics

mean respect to our ancestors, who instilled

positive values in us.»

Shamsa Al-Rabia›ah, who speaks four

languages, says, «We, young people, are

responsible for our acts, and we want our

behavior to positively affect the peoples of the

world.»

Fatima Mohammed, who speaks three

languages, says, «The United Arab Emirates

is a great nation built on unity. We, the UAE

youth, will remain united, hand in hand,

adhering to the noble values and passion that

can not be defeated.»

Speaking four languages, Mohammed al-

Shehhi says, «Kindly, pardon us if we made

any mistakes. The culture of apologizing

learnsushowtogetbetterandmoveforward.»

Hamda Al-Awadi, who speaks three

languages, says «Happiness can be achieved

through making others happy, and we will

be keen on bringing happiness to all young

people to make ourselves happy.»
