38% of children under the age of two use smart
phones
A study conducted by “Common Sense Media” (CSM),
which is specialized in defending the issues of family and
children, indicates that 38% of the children under the age of
two have already used a tablet or a smart phone.
The study found that almost two of every five children under
the age of two have already used tablets for games, videos,
or even purposes related to media.
65% of browsing time on social networks hap�
pens via smart phones
A report published on Comscore’s website indicates that 65%
of browsing time that users spend on social network websites,
such as Facebook, Twitter and the likes, is done via smart
phones.
However, personal computers are still the best choice when us-
ers think about performing tasks related to electronic business
and commerce, following news, and reading health information.
350,000 users for “Wasalny”
The developers of the traffic app “Wasalny” have announced
that the number of users in Egypt reached 350,000 after three
years of launching the application.
“Wasalny” was launched in 2010 in an attempt to solve traffic
problems in Egypt, especially in major cities such as Cairo and
Alexandria.
This application uses the concept of mass crowd, where its us-
ers exchange benefits through offering reports about the condi-
tion of the streets where they are, which helps avoiding crowded
streets and relieves traffic congestion.

Twitter has overtaken its competitor Facebook as the most popular
social network among teens according to a recent survey made by
Piper Jaffray. The study by the financial firm Piper Jaffray found Twit-
ter was preferred by 26 percent of adolescents while Facebook and
its recently acquired unit Instagram were each chosen by 23 percent.
The study noted that it seems Instagram’s popularity among teens
is negatively impacting the popularity of Twitter and Facebook as the
latter is 10% less popular than six months ago and Twitter is 4% less
popular.
90% of flydubai cargo operations are electronic
flydubai Cargo started using electronic air freight data in all its trans-
actions to reduce desk-based and paper transactions in delivering
cargo and to facilitate procedures among the concerned entities. 90%
of flydubai transactions use electronic air freight data, which exceeds
the sector’s average of 29.5%. flydubai Cargo vice-president Mo-
hammed Hassan indicated that starting to use electronic freight data
constitutes a significant leap in flydubai Cargo journey; a common
shipping operation takes 20 paper documents at a minimum whereas
electronic data contributes in reducing costs and is more effective,
reliable and accurate.
