UAE MoI
Provides Driving License Issuance via Smart App
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has launched
a driving license issuance service via its
app UAE MoI. The new app is to benefit
those who have passed their driving tests
through the federal traffic and registration
system.
The service helps applicants to save both
time and effort. This system will provide
the user with the application file on the
federal traffic and registration system, and
is adopted across the UAE wherever the
application terms are met.
Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi,
Chairman of the Ministry of Interior’s E-
transformation Higher Committee, said
that this service is among a package of
services that the MoI has provided for the
public that require the user to follow simple
steps to obtain the service. He also high-
lighted the quantum leap that the MoI has
achieved in the field of smart applications
in order to address the needs of citizens
and residents alike.
“The smart transformations of MoI servic-
es are a part of the mGovernment’s frame-
work that aims to seamlessly provide the
best services to the customers in a way
that is simple and achieves their satisfac-
tion. The MoI is continuously following the
developments made in the fields of tech-
nology and smart applications in order to
provide further smart services,” he said.
The MoI smart applications center is an
effective part of service development by
employing competent nationals who pro-
vide all the electronic procedures related
to the services and answer inquiries from
the public.
The Khalifa Student Empowerment Pro-
gram, Aqdar, in coordination with the
Ministry of Education, Federal Transport
Authority, SAAED for Traffic Systems and
Child Protection Center, is working on de-
veloping a new app called “Aqdar Smart
Care” in cooperation with TimeLine, a na-
tional company specialized in technology
solutions.
The app aims to achieve effective com-
munication between all those concerned
with students including parents, teachers,
supervisors and relevant entities.
The app has many useful features and ser-
vices, notably instant notifications to par-
ents about their kids’ activities as well as
sending notifications as soon as students
enter the school bus or their absence from
class, and when they leave the bus to
head home. That way, parents can remain
informed about the whereabouts and sta-
tus of their children all the time.
The new app also provides parents with
the student’s behavior and whether they
conform to or violate school common
practices through an interactive service.
Teachers can give students positive points
in case of good behavior and negative
points in case of student’s unacceptable
behavior during the school day.
Parents can review the points on Aqdar
app, thus be able to positively support
their children and hand them presents and
rewards for their positive behavior. Par-
ents can also take positive and immediate
action towards remarks about negative or
wrong behavior by their children.
The app offers many other services such
as in case of absence of student, parents
can apply for an absence day through the
app, thus informing the bus supervisor
and school teachers immediately about
the absence.
The app further allows relevant organiza-
tions in the UAE to receive relevant stu-
dents’ data such as medical status, as well
as to communicate with teachers, schools,
bus supervisors and parents. Accordingly,
these entities can instructions and guide-
lines to parents, teachers or others about
the best practices, all through the mobile
app.
