The technical committee in charge of meet-
ing the MOI smartphone apps award can-
didates (2nd edition) completed evaluation
sessions of entries by university students
in the UAE. The committee aims to assess
ideas and proposals according to criteria set
at the Ministry of Interior (MOI). The com-
mittee said that the quality of proposals ex-
ceeded expectations. The proposals were
creative and targeted a wide range of audi-
ence to take advantage of the services, in-
cluding individuals from society, people with
special needs, the elderly and business cor-
porations. Many of the proposals support the
Ministry in assessing and analyzing data to
enhance crime combatingmeasures through
smart and advanced technology tools that
enable police to monitor and respond to the
MOI’s missions and activities, particularly
service and police tasks. The MOI formed
several committees and teams to manage
the MOI Smartphone Apps award through-
out all its stages. The qualified proposals will
be evaluated by a neutral committee made
up of experts and specialists in the field.
The majority of entries submitted by students
focused on employing smart technologies in
smart transformation to major police work.
Examples included using Google Glass, tak-
ing advantage of the Internet technologies
and providing interactive services based on
artificial intelligence.

Dubai Courts launched its first package of
smart services, which allow users to apply
for up to 30 judicial services on iOS or An-
droid devices.
The apps launched by Dubai Courts are
easy and simple to use. In only four steps,
users can apply for a service and track its
status at any time during the process.

The smart cases service is one of the app

Courts. It includes a number of smart ser-
vices that aim to develop and upgrade the
level of services provided by courts to fa-
cilitate and speed up proceedings in line
with the Dubai Courts vision: “Pioneering
in Courts Work”.
Moreover, the Dubai Courts’ application of
smart services is a major milestone and
achievement in the judicial sector in par-
ticular, and the government sector in gen-
eral. It is not limited to providing a way to
request a service, but it an integrated sys-
tem through which the Dubai Courts seeks
to apply the principle of smart operations in
managing its works.
This app is the simplest and easiest way to
deal with transactions for all cases, starting
from submitting a request till a final deci-
sion is reached. The new application is an
actual translation of an integrated series
of operations and procedures that were
reconstructed, improved and categorized
into smart operations, thus becoming the
main tool provided by the Dubai Courts for
all its respective customers, employees
and Judges. This would ensure the ability
to monitor and manage all the procedures
for case requests anywhere and anytime.
The application was designed to primarily
target the categories of external customers
(parties to the suits, law firms, and typing
offices), internal auditors and judges, as
well as secretaries/clerks and implementa-
tion officers, so as to ensure provision of an
integrated and smart experience.
