Distinguished Electronic Ex-
periences
The eGovernment Exhibition is a
platform to showcase the latest dis-
tinguished electronic experiences
within the GCC countries. Each
country can be represented by up to
4 entities in the exhibition.
The third eGovernment Conference
takes into consideration the lessons
learned from the earlier editions (Sul-
tanate of Oman in 2009 and Kuwait
in 2011), developments and new
global trends in the field of eGovern-
ment in its various dimensions and
conditions, data and developments
achieved locally and among GCC
countries.
Smart Transformation
The conference discusses several
themes starting with the new global
trends in the transformation from
eGovernment to mGovernment. This
theme addresses a number of top-
ics such as: eParticipation, usability
and user experience, content, open
government, managing government
portals, cloud computing, mServices,
semantic web, single-sign-on, inte-
gration, legal and legislative struc-
ture of eGovernment/mGovernment.
The UAE Experience
The second theme to be discussed
in the conference is “The exchange
of experiences and expertise among
GCC countries”. The UAE experi-
ence in transforming to mServices
will be highlighted. Other topics to be
discussed include: content manage-
ment and development of govern-
ment portals, strategies for eGov-
ernment projects, usability tests and
focus groups, customer satisfaction
surveys and opinion polls and gov-
ernment apps.
Joint Ventures
The third theme of the conference,
“GCC integration - towards a unified
Gulf eGovernment”, discusses re-
ports and insights from experts, deci-
sion-makers and leaders in govern-
ment related to the prospects of the
GCC’s unity in the field of electronic
transformation and eGovernment.
It covers a number of topics includ-
ing: prospects for joint ventures in the
field of eGovernment, integration at
the level of data systems and digital
infrastructure, common strategic of
electronic transformation of the GCC
countries, guided through similar
experiences such as the European
Union, unified portal and specialized
portals such as Gulf tourism, and the
common systems and programmes
such as eSecurity or health systems.
TRA called on government entities
to actively participate in the event
and showcase UAE’s distinguished
experience in eTransformation and
highlight the great national mGov-
ernment initiative and its projects.
