Minister and Ruler of Dubai announced UAE

Innovation Week, to be held from 2228-

His Highness said that innovation today is

not a luxury or an option, but a requirement

and a lifestyle. Governments and businesses

that lack innovation and creation lose their

competitive edge and surely lack progress.

“We have multiplied our investments in

innovation, especially in terms of equipping

and training our national cadres because

keeping pace with the rapid changes taking

place in the world requires innovative cadres

and an environment that supports innovation,”

Sheikh Mohammed said.

“Our private and public sectors, including

education, health, energy, environment, space,

economy and services sectors will showcase

their innovations during the 2015 UAE

Innovation Week,” Sheikh Mohammed added.

In presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan

Bin Mohammad BinRashid Al Maktoum,

Dubai Executive Council, Sheikh Mohammed

called upon the public and private sectors and

academic entities to participate in the UAE

He gave the public the opportunity to make

suggestions, through social media channels,

attempt to make the week the primary destination

for innovation and innovators in the region.

Public and private sectors innovation-based

initiatives are expected to be announced

during the UAE Innovation Week, as well as

organizing an array of activities by government,

research, and academic entities, including

re-evaluate previous innovations made during

His Highness tweeted urging the public to

suggest ideas for the week events and activities

such as celebrating the most innovative

education methods, the most innovative

government entity, the most innovative

teachers, themost innovative national company

and the most innovation-supporting university.

The aim is to make the UAE Innovative Week

the country’s most important event in 2015 and

revolutionize the culture of innovation across

all organizations and sectors.

A committee comprising representatives

of the Federal and local Governments and

private sector will be formed to organize

the UAE Innovation Week. The committee

will be responsible for receiving ideas and

coordinating all activities related to the Week

among federal and local entities and major

national businesses.

The UAE Innovation Week was launched in the

presence of the Minister of Cabinet Affairs and

Chairman of the National Innovation Committee

Hospitality in Dubai Khalifa Saeed Suleiman,

Ohood Al Roumi, Secretary General of the

UAE Cabinet Najla Al Awar and Executive

The UAE Innovation Week will be held from 22-

28 November 2015, and will serve as a platform

for federal and local government entities,

leading private sector companies, universities,

and academic institutions to hold their own

events and showcase their innovations and

applications, in an attempt to promote and

reinforce the culture of innovation.

The UAE Innovation Week will be based
