Mustaqbali interface informs
students about needs of the labor
market
Gitex 2015 discusses the accel-
eration of digital transformation
Al Ain University for Sciences and Technology
in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Tawteen
Council (ADTC) have rolled out the first phase of
the Mustaqbali (My Future) interface to develop
workforce.
The system enables students to have access
to up-to-date information on the most needed
professions and disciplines in Abu Dhabi’s labor
market in the next years.
For the first phase, the system has been linked
to three major universities and colleges including
Al Ain University for Sciences and Technology,
with plans to link to other universities and col-
leges in future phases.
Through the manpower development system, Al
Ain University for Sciences and Technology stu-
dents will be able to know the needs of the job
market and higher education inputs. Students
get the opportunity of knowing the required spe-
cializations in the coming years on which they
can make informed choices.
The 35th edition of Gitex Technology Week
2015, hosted by Dubai World Trade Center dur-
ing 18-22 October, will discuss the importance
of accelerating digital transformation through
the “Internet for Everything” era in the Middle
East.
The event intends to showcase the technology
solutions of the next generation such as drones
and robots, expected to lead the transformation
process at corporations and businesses in the
Middle East. This process is led through the
current stage known as the “Internet of Things”
in addition to the emerging stage of the “Inter-
net of Everything”.
The main theme of Gitex Technology Week
2015 entitled, “The Future of the Internet of
Everything” will focus on the key pillars of the
Internet of Everything revolution. Such pillars
are innovation, Connected Cloud, big data, mo-
bile abilities and security. Additionally, Google’s
Creative Skills for Innovation Lab is set to make
a comeback, in context of supporting the Smart
City initiative.
UAE students explore the
world’s best smart cities
A delegation of 400 outstanding
UAE students at public schools were
sent to pioneering smart cities and
distinguished academic and scien-
tific institutions in the United States,
Britain and Switzerland. Several oth-
er batches were also sent to explore
prestigious academic and scientific
institutions within the UAE.
These programs are in line with a se-
ries of training camps and scientific
field trips organized by the Ministry of
Education in support of the wise lead-
ership of the UAE’s aim to encourage
students to join programs that enhance
their creative and innovative faculties.
The scientific camps and trips, which
are carried out throughout the sum-
mer holiday, are designed to engage
UAE students in various advanced
scientific disciplines to get a better
sense of modern advancements in
society and familiarize themselves
with the best applications of presti-
gious institutions inside and outside
the UAE. The camps also aim to de-
velop students’ abilities to explore,
research and innovate.
