On his part, His Excellency Sheikh Na-
hyan bin Mubarak confirmed that the idea
of creating the museum comes in line
with the launch of the “national Strategy
for Innovation” by His Highness Sheikh
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE
Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler
of Dubai, which aims to put the Emirates
in the forefront of innovative countries in
the world throughout the coming seven
years.
His Excellency stated that the Ministry
of Culture, Youth and Community De-
velopment is keen on innovation when it
comes to serving culture and intellectual
and artistic creativity and production in all
its forms. He considers culture to be the
pillar of overall and successful develop-
ment. That is why the Ministry is keen on
interacting with and engaging talented art-
ists and intellectuals to achieve cultural
development in society. It is also keen
on providing them with the right setting to
motivate them to create cultural and artis-
tic products that assert national solidar-
ity and promote public awareness of the
importance of culture and creativity and
boost their global perspective. This should
ascertain the values and principles of the
nation, and always take them in positive
and desired directions.
His Excellency added that through bring-
ing new and innovative ideas to the table
and establishing an e-museum, we aim
to motivate Emirati artists to innovate, as
we open the door before them for global
competition in addition to engaging them
in generating new and innovative ideas.
His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin
Mubarak Al Nahyan explained that the
museum relies on the Giga-pixel technol-
ogy in displaying art works, allowing the
viewer to see accurate details not seen by
the naked eye. It also provides detailed
description of the work, artist and age and
type of art used in the art work in Arabic
and English without the need for a person
to do that explanation. This should reel in
new groups of youth and the public be-
sides artists and art fans.
