68.4 million PC shipments

Worldwide PC shipments totaled 68.4 million units

in the second quarter of 2015, a 9.5 percent decline

from the second quarter of 2014, according to pre-

liminary results by Gartner, Inc.

This was the steepest PC shipment decline since the

third quarter of 2013. PC shipments are projected to

decline 4.4 percent in 2015.

70 million photos shared everyday on Instagram

300 million Instagrammers share 70 million photos each day on Insta-

gram, receiving 2.5 billion likes.

Instagram said that 70% of its active users are from outside the US, with

14 million users from the UK. This is the first time the company reveals

user statistics according to geographic locations.

$1 trillion losses from cyberattacks

A cyberattack on United States’ power grid could cost

as much as $1 trillion to the U.S. economy.

Such an event would cause a rise in mortality rates as

health and public safety systems fail, and disruption to

transport and infrastructure.

1.31 billion active users on Face-

book each month

There are currently 1.31 billion active Face-

book users, with an annual growth rate of

23%. Active Facebook users from mobile

platforms have reached 844 million, with an

annual growth rate of 29%.

There are over 4 billion video videos each

day.

63.19 million shipments of Apple devices

Apple devices during the third quarter totaled 47.5 million

iPhones, 10.9 million iPads and 4.79 million Macs. Apple made

an additional $2.6 billion in revenues from other products such

as Apple Watch, iPod, Apple TV and Beats products.

Accordingly, iPhone sales grew by 35%, whereas iPad sales

declined by 18% and Mac sales and revenues grew by 9% on

an annual basis.
