The United Arab Emirates Federal Authority
for Government Human Resources (FAHR)
has teamed up with IBM, to help it transform
its eGovernment services and deliver more
personalized mobile capabilities, to improve
employee engagement and streamline ac-
cess to critical resources.
The IBM MobileFirst Platform will provide
FAHR with a highly secure and reliable so-
lution, which will enable the UAE›s Federal
Government employees to access sensitive
data and conduct transactions on any mo-
bile device. The first app built on the platform
(called FAHR) is designed to allow employ-
ees of ministries and federal bodies to apply
for, cancel or track vacation days; browse
and update personal data; check on monthly
salary details; produce certificates and ac-
cess medical insurance information.

the Cabinet in 2014.
The survey indicated that the web-
site achieved 100% on content, ac-
cessibility, use, scope and hosting.
It achieved 94% on architecture and
design. The survey also showed
that the architecture and site design
performance is excellent in both lan-
guages.
The website overall performance
was assessed to be 94% whereas
average performance of other gov-
ernment bodies was 74%.
In recognition of its highly secure ePay and
mPay services, the Dubai Smart Government
(DSG) received the Payment Card Industry
Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) certificate
from the PCI Security Standards Council
(PCI SSC). DSG is the first government en-
tity in the UAE to receive the certificate.Ah-
mad Bin Humaidan, director-general of DSG,
said: “DSG consistently applies for globally
recognized certificates on security efficiency
as part of our efforts to keep up with the fast-
growing developments and changes in infor-
mation technology (IT) industry especially in
terms of data protection.” He added that this
is in line with the initiative launched by His
Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al
Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister
of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform
Dubai into a Smart Government and provide
highly trusted and reliable smart services.
