Reem Al Hashimi:
A Minister who is
passionate about self-challenge

lency Reem Al Hashimi”.
Away from protocols and in a genuine
conversation that touches hearts, Her
Excellency Reem Al Hashimi, Minister of
State, talked about her personal life and
daily program.
HE Reem Al Hashimi joined the UAE
government as Minister of State on Feb-
ruary 17, 2008. She obtained her Bach-
elor’s and Master Degrees
from Tufts and Harvard
Universities, Bos-
ton, Massachu-
setts, USA. She
earned Bache-
lor’s degree in
International
Relations and another degree in French
linguistics.
With a cheerful face and a passion for
success and challenges, Al Hashimi pos-
sesses a forward-thinking and a deter-
mination to achieve goals and surmount
challenges.
HE the Minister of State had deservedly
proved herself in the community. Born in
1978, she started her career at the Ex-
ecutive Office of His Highness Sheikh
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-
President and Prime Minister of the
UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
No doubt, Al Hashimi’s ac-
complishments, not only
adds to the Emirati wom-
en successes, but also
to those of the Arab
women in general.
In the video, Her Excellency demonstrates
the nature of her work and her daily sched-
ule starting from the minute she reaches
her office at the ministry through her meet-
ings with the various work teams.
Al Hashimi said that although she was a
minister without a portfolio, but her work
is linked with a number of other ministries,
especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a
matter which required her to be up-to-date
with international developments and latest
reports.
Talking about her daily life, she pointed
out her passion about competitiveness
and self-challenge, noting that she is not a
much social type of a person nor does she
have shopping mania. She spends her lei-
sure time and vacations at home with the
family, and likes to watch the Turkish se-
ries “Harim Al Sultan”.
