In the brief period of time since its establishment, the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) Youth Council was able to make remarkable achievements that added tremendous value to the FTA's operations with many distinctive ideas and innovative visions. The Council is now one of the main pillars we rely on at the Authority to implement our strategy, explore the future of the UAE tax system, and achieve global leadership in the sector through creative initiatives that drive the continuous development of work procedures

The FTA Youth Council was established in line with government directives to drive youth empowerment across various sectors, activate their role, and invest their energies and talents. The youth are the builders of the present and the promise of the future that we look forward to for our young country

The Council provides an opportunity for young Emirati employees to come forward with their innovative ideas and play a part in achieving the FTA's vision to become a leading global tax authority that supports sustainable financial diversification, by means of effective initiatives, including the adoption of a well-structured plan to empower young people, allow them to express their opinions, and enhance their participation in the ongoing development of the Authority's systems. This allows them to invest their energies constructively, in addition to enhancing their leadership skills

The FTA Youth Council strives to achieve its objectives by supporting the meaningful and effective representation of youth, and encouraging them to participate and influence the Authority's procedures and decisions. It also aims to engage in internal and external activities, events, seminars, and conferences, as well as to create consistent channels of communication with the FTA youth. The Council offers members an environment more responsive to the aspirations of youth; it hosts periodic meetings and creates interactive platforms that include FTA youth and listen to their ideas, in addition to developing their skills and empowering them to contribute to the decision-making process.

The Council provides the necessary mechanisms to create an environment that allows for benefitting from the youth's creativity, enhancing their contributions, and arming them with the skills and knowledge they need to seize opportunities and participate in sustainable development processes

Since its inception, the FTA Youth Council has played a pivotal role in driving investment in the efforts of the FTA's youth, enabling their achievements and outstanding performance, promoting loyalty among them, and encouraging them to contribute more towards the embodiment and realization of the UAE's vision, all the while enhancing their sense of accomplishment in their work with the Authority

The Council has largely succeeded in creating equal opportunities for the Authority's youth to assume new responsibilities and advance along the career ladder, in addition to providing them with guidance to enhance their professional development in the short and long terms. The objective is to support the youth in building and continuously developing their skills and abilities in technical and non-technical fields, in addition to improving their job performance

Despite the great achievements that have been made in a relatively short period of time, we remain fully confident that the FTA Youth Council still has many more to come. The Council has a series of key objectives it seeks to achieve in an effort to further enhance its contributions towards implementing the FTA's ambitious future plans for the sustainable development of the tax environment in the  UAE
